Meet Jody
Jody is a creative, insightful, and compassionate Art Therapist, and Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). She has extensive experience supporting children and youth across educational, recreational, artistic, and therapeutic settings as they navigate anxiety, depression and mood-related concerns, grief and loss, life transitions, and challenges with emotion regulation. Jody is skilled at building warm, trusting relationships with children, adolescents and their families, meeting them in ways that are developmentally attuned, supportive, and responsive to their unique ways of communicating and understanding the world.
In her work with children and youth, Jody integrates open-ended creative expression with talk therapy to help clients safely explore and make sense of their emotions, strengthen communication skills, and deepen self-understanding. She offers a welcoming, non-judgmental space where curiosity, imagination, and emotional expression are encouraged and valued.
Jody’s work is grounded in person-centred and strengths-based approaches, ensuring that each child feels met where they are. She thoughtfully tailors her therapeutic approach to each client’s needs, using creativity as a pathway toward healing, resilience, and meaningful change. Art Therapy may or may not be used when working with Jody, and clients working within this model do not require any previous artistic skills or experience. With a focus on the process of creating art and not the final product, clients are supported in expressing their emotions, building resilience, and making sense of their experiences through creative exploration.
