Meet Amanda
Amanda is a Child and Youth Worker that has over 10 years of experience supporting young people and their caregivers navigate complex mental health challenges. She does so through a trauma informed, strengths-based lens, meeting caregivers and young people where they are at. She has clinical experience working in school-based programs, live-in treatment centres, and within the hospital setting. She utilizes her strong knowledge base of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Emotion Focused Family Therapy to provide practical skills for both caregivers and young people to work through challenging emotions and the behaviours that have been adapted to support with these emotions.
Amanda has worked with young people who have struggled with school-related challenges, anxiety, low mood, disordered eating, trauma and emotion dysregulation. She provides an individualized, child-centred approach at every stage of the treatment journey, collaborating with young people and their families from a place of compassion. Her strength is her ability to build rapport and empower caregivers and young people to develop skills and strategies that support with getting through challenging moments while building connection and confidence in their ability to do so.
