Join us for a presentation by Julia Swaigen, MSW, RSW, Founder and Director at Attuned Families. Julia will discuss what Attunement is, why it's so pivotal in parenting and how to have more of it. 

Children have the opportunity to create at The Artful Child with adult supervision during the presentation.

Julia has been working to improve Child, Family and School Mental Health for 18 years through her clinical and consultative work in Public Agencies, Public Schools, and Private and Independent Schools. Julia founded Attuned Families to provide more direct support, focused on Prevention, Early Intervention and Innovation in Child, Family and Social Mental Health.

Big Feelings: A Parent Skills Workshop

Dates: May 9 & 10, 2024 and August 22 & 23, 2024

Time: 9:30am-4:00pm

Location: 2150 Bloor St W, Suite #205

An Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) & Emotion Focused Skills Training (EFST) workshop to give parents the skills and tools to feel confident managing children's big feelings and behaviours (and their own!)

  • Understand and navigate your child's big feelings

  • Use your relationship as a tool to help your child with their big feelings

  • Set limits and problem solve challenging behaviours

  • Strengthen your relationship with your child

  • Understand and navigate your own emotions that often come up and get in the way of supporting your child

  • Trust your own parenting intuition and feel more confident in your parenting

  • A great opportunity for parents to attend together to get on the same page in

  • your parenting

  • An effective approach for parenting children with any diagnosis or no diagnosis

  • Likely eligible for reimbursement through extended benefits/OAP funding

Sensitive and Strong

Location: 96 Vine Ave, Toronto

For kids 9-13 years old

Join us for 6 Saturday Sessions where we will explore our strengths and sensitivies, learn to work with our emotions and manage relationships to improve emotional well-being.

Topics/Activities include:

  • Art therapy

  • Self-care tool box

  • Finding your people

  • Establishing personal boundaries, self-discovery and emotional growth

  • Connecting with animals and nature (with a visit from our Therapy Dog, Cashew)

This group is for Children 9-13 who are highly sensitive, struggle with anxiety or emotion regulation, and are open to meeting like minded peers in a very supportive setting.
